We are a mental health ecosystem investment accelerator organization made up of 134+ CBOs and NGOs across the country and outside Kenya.
Our History
Before CAPMHK, civil society organizations working in mental health often operated in silos, each doing important work but without a common platform to raise unified concerns or drive systemic change. This fragmentation meant limited funding, weak legal protections, and persistent stigma for those living with mental health challenges.
CAPMHK emerged to bridge those gaps, linking advocacy, policy reform, community resilience, and strategic partnerships under one umbrella. Since then, we’ve grown into a recognized national actor in preventive mental health, driving legal reforms, shaping policy, and building coalitions that center dignity and inclusion.

The training that CAPMHK has organized has been invaluable. At Makadara Law Courts, we often encounter mental health issues at different stages of the justice process, from assessing a person’s capacity to take a plea to considering their mental state at the time of an offense. We appreciate CAPMHK for making this possible
